Abstract:This paper focuses on the examination of architectural theory within the Chinese discourse during the 1950s and 1960s. Employing various textual sources, it conducts a historical analysis of the discourse surrounding architectural theory in this era, with the aim of elucidating the methods and distinctive features characterizing architectural theory within the Chinese context. By scrutinizing theoretical cognitive perspectives, translation concepts, and pertinent materials related to local key theoretical topics, this paper delves into the definition of architectural theory as a category and investigates the roles and impacts attributed to architectural theory by the nation, society, and the architectural industry.
